New Funeral Director for Chester Pearce Associates

Bereavement Service, Chester Pearce Associates is delighted to welcome a new funeral director to the team. Hazel Pittwood brings her considerable experience to the company at a time when it is expanding its already wide span of services.

Stephen Nimmo, Managing Director explains; “Working for Chester Pearce Associates is about understanding the ethos of the company. We donʼt take the appointment of any member of staff lightly and want to know we have the very best people here. When someone dies, you want to know that a professional, yet compassionate and caring person will be with you every step of the way. Hazel is an obvious choice for us because she has always shown a desire to go above and beyond in the service of those families who are bereaved.”

For Hazel, this appointment is a new chapter in her career that she will relish. “Working for Chester Pearce is a real challenge for me and one I am thoroughly looking forward to. The opportunity to provide a unique holistic approach when working with families is something that particularly drew me to the company and also to work not only with those who have died and their families, but people who are facing life limiting illness. What greater privilege can there be than to help someone wishing to plan for their own death, and in doing so take control in a positive way.”

Chester Pearce has a very different approach to bereavement care, while maintaining the traditions which families expect when someone has died. Through its CHOICES programme, people facing life limiting illness, or those coming to the end of the lives in hospice and nursing home care have the opportunity to spend time with a funeral director and discuss how they would like things to be when the time comes, and for their funerals.

Stephen continued; “Because of our CHOICES programme, when choosing a member of staff, we have to be certain that they are the right person not only to look after those who have died, but to sit with those who are dying. This is a very different challenge and takes a special individual to be able to commit the time and energy required. Hazel is most definitely someone who fulfills these criteria and we know she will be a great success.”
