Psychopomp Training

I believe very strongly that those with terminal illness, entering the final stages of their lives should receive the highest standard of care. They should have the opportunity to die with dignity. How though can we, those who are going to be left behind, help to achieve this for our loved ones, and patients?

Ursula James is one of the UK's leading clincial hypnotherapists, and is working on several projects with Chester Pearce Associates, and I am delighted to be able to highlight the forthcoming Psychopomp programme which offers an opportunity to investigate how carers and those with loved ones who are dying, can assist in bringing dignity in the end of life stages.

Please take some time to look at this course. I am sure it has relevance to many people who care for the dying, or who are nursing a dying relative or friend.

 What is a Psychopomp?

A psychopomp is a guider of souls. Their primary role is to help the individual die with dignity and support those who care for them.

Sometimes called a Soul Midwife (although this term more correctly is used for a 'hands-on' approach), sometimes called a Shadow Walker, their role is to guide and accompany the spirit from the realm of the living to their new home. It is an ancient role, but one which, because it has been often neglected by organised religion, has been left to those intuitive and empathic enough to work with those about to make the transition.

These skills can be used for the dying or those who have died some time ago. It creates rituals for the living to understand and let go of loved ones so they can carry on living. Psychopomps work with the elderly, the terminally ill, those whose children have been stillborn, those who work themselves with the dying. This process is for anyone who grieves and finds it hard to let go, as well as providing support and guidance for the carers of, and the dying themselves.

Ursula James carries out two types of training courses. For further information on her courses please go to www.hypnova.co.uk/special_psychopomp.php
